Unlike here, thank goodness there's no such logistical and other issues with getting guys (and gals) together to shoot hoops in the UK, otherwise this guy would never have made it.

Watched a short documentary on him the other day and what an inspiration he is to all basketball players and lovers - young and old - everywhere. Just might take it up myself in 2012 at this rate!

Im in to play. Someone should take all the names and get emails and post days they want to play. That way people can say Yay or Nay and book some playing time

The 'Doodle' system is really good. We did it for squash a couple of years ago.

You can count me in for a game. Near Letzigraben are a heap of courts. I used to shoot hoops there quite a bit as my physiotherapist has his clinic there.... I'll find out the exact name and post it....

You can also rent some indoor courts from the city, but they advice on their homepage that it would be easier to contact schools..

Alright! as I am in a good mood today, let me organize this. If possible all you LADS AND GALS who wants to play ball, PLEASE PM ME YOUR NAME, DAY AND TIME YOU ARE ABLE TO PLAY. PM ME NOT ON THE THREAD!!.... maybe i give a deadline till 6pm tomoro? noh? 08/01/12..... then I'll check to best possible dates (PM MESSAGES I RECEIVED) for everyone to play. If you all agree with the idea PM ME SOFORT!

One last thing, regarding the HALL, I'll look around the net but if any of you could post SPORT HALLS that you know around Zurich. I will deeply and truly appreciate it.

I have booked a gym in Thalwil this coming Sunday (Jan 15) from 13:00 to 15:00, for anybody who is interested. I have never seen the gym live (just pictures) but it looks to be fine for full-court, either 4 on 4 or 5 on 5. if I can figure out how to post a new social event I will do so, together with a link to Doodle so folks can sign up. will have to pass around a hat to help with the expense of the gym, depending on how many folks can make it. have also requested the same gym for a couple of additional Sundays, as well, I should have confirmation from the gemeinde in the coming days.

we play every friday from 20:00 to 22:00 at the school in Altstetterstrasse 171.
The fee is either 5 CHF per practice or 60 CHF for the whole year (2012 calendar year)

FROM THEN ON LOOK FOR ALTSTETERSTRASSE 171. the street is located outside the train station on the right side. you wont missed it coz once yur out of the STATION you see a chinese restaurant on the LEFT and ALTSTETERSTRASSE is on the RIGHT (A TRAFFIC LIGHT as well).
if u did find the street, all u have to do is KEEP GOING STRAIGHT. i dnt remember seeing the NUMBER 171, basically, you will see a playground with basketball court in the middle with metal fence. Dont worry, u will find it, just KEEP GOING STRAIGHT. U can always check the numbers from other building.
