Any info about kids soccer/pick up games in Zurich, Binz, Maur?

He joined just after we arrived last year, he had Schnuppertraining first, where the trainer assessed his ability, and he has played and trained regularly since. It has also done wonders for his understanding of German and Swiss German. They do have waiting lists, though, I understand.
What is a "pick up" game by the way? Sounds a bit dodgy to me....

Thank you. We also went to FC Witicon, but the practice is only once a week. I think this is not enough. My son was training twice a week, and had two games on the weekend. Plus he was going to Velocity for extra fitness training.

I'm looking to move in January to Zurich and the priority for my 10 year old is a football club - otherwise I don't think he'll get on the plane! Do they have a local league - is it similar rules to the UK (he's moving into the U11 category in Sept so 11 a side full pitch..). Do they have web sites? ANy help on football appreciated!

If you know in which area you'll be living, then search for "fc <area name>" (eg, "fc witikon" for that area, or "fc uster", or whatever). Get in touch with the team via email, explain your situation, and go for it! When we were in Witikon we got an offer of a place on the team for our 8-y-o son, but the timing was impossible (he didn't go to the local school, so was out of synch ...). Trying again in our new place, hopefully the local team here has training we can get to!

Was rather special at the Football Camp last summer, we had a trainer from FC Zürich leading the camp, and one of the junior trainers from GC Zürich (who used to play for Witikon) assisting. Great feeling, especially as the FCZ trainer brought along a couple of FCZ U-17s to help run the 'camp'. (sorry, if there are no tents then it's not a real camp!! Especially if you're only there a few hours a day for the week.).
