Tennis Round Robin in Zuirch?

Hi,

I'm new to Zurich and wondering if there exists or is interest in a Tennis Round Robin?

I used to play a lot (beginner/intermediate level) when living in Luxembourg and the organiser maintained a list of players who would either play singles or more often doubles in a fun round robin league.

Indoors for winter and hopefully somewhere reasonably priced outdoors during summer.

You might not find typical Round Robin here but you can enter the tournaments at different levels throughout a year, if this is what you want. You can get more info here: General Information about Swiss Tennis In order to enter the competitive tennis and get some points in classification, you need a licence CHF60 a year (2 x CHF30 summer and winter season). This is usually organized by club which you join in April/May, but it is too late for that now and you need to wait for the next season to start. What you can do is apply for such licence from www.mytennis.ch anytime of the year.

The amateur torurnaments are played all year round and the leagues are played only in summer season. It is usually a draw with Tableau set for seeded and unseeded players. If there are less than 4 players they make sort of Round Robin to play against one another, but only when number of players who entered is too small. In league the captain decides who plays against whom in home/visitor team.

Pricewise, IMHO the tourneys are quite costly between CHF70-CHF80 (winter on indoor carpet) and CHF50-CHF60 (summer on clay court).

Hope it helps a bit
