Ski-Virgin-group ski novice learning-the update:

Delighted at all the responses and interest there is from everyone wanting to learn in a group like myself.
I have been on to Josh the ski-instructer in Flumserburg, and he says once I know the number of people and a date to go ahead and book through the website.
He has also said its ok to book beginners lessons at the Weekend, though the website says otherwise. I'm going to clarify this with him.
So I'm up for any weekend in January, except the first one, will still be recovering from the night before!

I would suggest half days lessons.

1.Is there any date that someone can't do?
2. A show of hands, who wants to learn how to ski in a group, so I can contact the school with a number.

Re: Ski-Virgin-group ski novice learning-the update:

Hi Everyone: I have had 2 responses via a PM from two others, and I know that from my last Ski-virgin thread it can take a few weeks for some to realise that either the thread is actually sitting in the forum, and just hasn't been spotted or it hits home with a few, that they cannot ski, so why not join a group!
And here I was thinking everyone can already ski!

I'm slightly concerned that we will roll into January and still not be on the slopes.
Am going to pitch to the Zurich Ski-school, with a rough number ( say 8) and see what dates they come up with!

Will keep you posted!! ( Pardon the pun! )

Re: Ski-Virgin-group ski novice learning-the update:

Ok, Talk about efficiency! Just got a call from Flumserberg now,

1. We have to book in person at Tannenboden.
2. Because we are of mixed ability, she would recommend two groups.
3.She recommends a whole day lesson. How much one learns depends on the individual
4. Lessons run Mon-Fri from tomorrow ( 21st Dec) 10am and again at 2pm.
5. It costs 55chf per person ( I'm assuming this doesn't include rental of gear, forgot to ask sorry, but will email her back)

Now all we need is a date...

Re: Ski-Virgin-group ski novice learning-the update:

Hi Fran, I have to book in person, and will be popping up in January to do it.
I am booking Flumserberg, and will arrange transport, I'm hoping someone out of 10 of us - or it's 12 now, can drive!
You are more than welcome to join. Keep you eyes on this thread after Xmas, for the date and more details.

Re: Ski-Virgin-group ski novice learning-the update:

Hi Everybody,

I also called Flumserberg on Friday and there is a lesson for a complete beginner like me. The session is in afternoon (1.5 hours) starting Mon-Sat from 21st Dec only (tomorrow). It would cost SFr 70 including all equipments and you need to join this session only once. They recommend to join this session before taking personal lessons. I am planning to going with my friends on next Friday/Saturday. Let me know if you want to join me.

For January, I would also like to join you and I think I am fine for all weekends in Jan at this point. Thanks for initiating it.

Add whats required in the equipment area to 55chf, for a whole day lesson per person.
Anyone what the red stars are?
Am a real novice.

The red stars are the quality of the equipment. 5 stars is the top of the line stuff, probably brand new and more advanced skis. If your learning lower starts and cheaper prices will be ok.
