An article on "
Cycling in Switzerland" has just been posted on BikeRadar.com, a major UK-based cycling website, which is run by the publishers of several cycling magazines in the UK (e.g., Cycling Plus, Mountain Biking UK). They seem to love the whole route network and the services offered to cyclists here. In fact, the article almost sounds like it was written by the tourist office (which is unusual because that site is usually very objective and doesn't mind being critical). There are a few things that I think could be improved about the national bike routes, but I guess when you put it into the perspective of what is offered in other countries like the UK, then it is idyllic.
They also posted a nice photo gallery of pictures taken while riding in Switzerland, here are a couple of nice ones:
BTW, it is not too cold to ride right now - I just did over 100km yesterday in temperatures between 0 and 4 C; just get the right clothing and you will be fine (if you're riding on the road, then a bike that can take slightly wider tires and full fenders also helps). This is a beautiful country to go cycling in, even in the winter
