Thoughts of Al Qaeda fanboys abusing the furry rodents for their own devious political and religious ends are clearly the intention, but what of the actual story? The truth is a non-event, rather than splattering grey furballs cascading over innocent passers by, it would appear that the rodents are a popular pet and some people don't look after them very well. Hold the front page people, looks like Mrs. Müller's tortoise from number 17 is having a bit of an issue with the warm weather or as "The Local" literary geniuses will no doubt try to convince us:

Crusty meat pie overcooked in old people's home.

In fact, some months ago there were 2 cases when some teenagers roasted hamsters in microwaves...and this is what I was thinking of when I read the title for the first time.

They must have been Americans. Every person with a minimum of culture would know that Microwaves are really unhealthy. It's ok to reheat cooked food, but to cook a hamster this is just wrong. The only way to get them crispy on the outside and tender on the inside is of course a Chinese wok:

Where do hamsters come from anyway? You never see wild hamsters, and obviously they can't survive in the wild, where did human beings find these crazy little things anyway?

LOL I read something about exploding watermelons in China due to too many chemicals or something and I could not help but feel sorry for the little hamsters
