(Seperates the spirit is a german play on words which is clearly lost in translation)

Confronting kids between the ages of 4-7 with the pleasure aspect of sex is too early in my opinion. Just explain them how babies are made in child friendly pictures (instead of using wooden and plush imitations of genitals).

I saw this in 20 minutes and thought there must be something wrong with my eyes. I'm all for sex education and teaching kids about the human body, but honestly I find this method (and those toys ) kind of sick.

I also read it in 20minuten this morning and find it bit disturbing; i find the idea of starting with sex education at that age quite early and kids massaging each other?!
The other interesting bit is how such an idea came to be in a conservative society like the Swiss (ok it is only planned to be introduced in Basel at the moment)

There is apparently a new guideline which has been developed with quite some research. The article reduces it to the pleasure part and the toys... not to report on an outrage, but to generate an outrage. Bad and biased pseudo-journalism.
Not sure about you guys, but while we had sex-education with some decades old materials in fifth grade or so did nobody learn something there: The stuff we were taught we all already knew and the stuff we were not taught we learned thanks to teenage magazines that did not only show plush toys... since then the internet arrived and offers far more explicit stuff for free and easily accessible. In short: If you don't teach them, they will find out themselves online. I think I prefer the plush vagina option.

They could have done better job with those replicas. On the other hand, if the work was too real looking, I bet kids would go home and compare, get self esteem issues, size comparison....
Why have toys, though, why aren't good ilustrations in books enough? It does look revolting. I am glad I am not sex ed teacher. I do think kids can see for themselves, or will look online as soon as they are able to. Plus toys are a tad ott. And while we do intruduce honestly and real answers, to have this at school at the age of 4, I am not sure how I feel about this.
