Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

Latest from Zürich - US prosecutors have vowed to make a fresh wave of arrests involving both “entities and individuals” after new evidence emerged in their wide-ranging investigation into Fifa corruption. The Swiss authorities, moreover, have seized property in the Alps in relation to alleged money laundering.
The Swiss attorney general, Michael Lauber, also confirmed a 2005 contract bearing the signature of Sepp Blatter that involved the sale of World Cup TV rights to the disgraced former Fifa official Jack Warner for a fraction of their true value is now part of the investigation.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

The Swiss firm JB Sports Marketing have today sent USB sticks to newspapers worldwide with copies of documents, emails, scans, tickets containing information about dubious FIFA transactions.

For example there is a claim that the Japanese Haruyuki Takahashi wanted to borrow 2 million to give to Blatter as a "gratuity", there is no concrete evidence Blatter received any such gratuities.

Re: Mr Joseph Sepp Bellend Blatter - FIFA corruption

Now Jérôme Valcke FIFA General Secretary has been suspended by FIFA.

He and two other colleagues were "let go" in 2006 after a dispute with Mastercard that led to FIFA being fined $90 Million.

At the time Jérôme was Marketing Director and then 6 months later he was brought back in the much higher role of FIFA General Secretary, basically No. 2 to Blatter. The concerns about corruption come ever nearer to Blatter

I was just reading that. The Swiss Attorny General has issued a statement that they have started legal proceedings against him. My weekend was already looking very good even without this!

Banned by FIFA, who were no doubt shocked, shocked, I tell you, that "he was a key player in schemes involving the offer, acceptance, and receipt of undisclosed and illegal payments".

Love it

FIFA - "The 2018 and 2022 World Cups bidding process was a completely fair process."

FIFA - "Jack Warner has been banned from football for life for violating FIFA's code of ethics in relation to the bidding process for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups".

According to news reports the Swiss Attorney General, referring to Michel Platini´s role, has not excluded that after searching FIFA headquarters his office might also search UEFA´s headquarters.

Read as: "Gentlemen, start your shredders."

According to the ft today FIFA sponsors Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Visa and Budweiser have asked Blatter to step down immediately.
His lawyer replied it would be in the best interests of FIFA if he stayed

A band in the called The Beat released a song in the UK just a year after Margaret Thatcher became the British Prime Minister "Stand Down Margaret (Stand Down Please)".
Maybe they could reform and record "Step Down Blatter".

https://youtu.be/v9WT66GoNAo

At his age I thought Blatter would be content with his baby project of the FIFA World Football museum in Tessinerplatz ZH and apparently the new acquisition of the hotel opposite from what Wollishofener tells us.
He could promote the museum and keep on working while retaining a modicum of dignity.

I am glad Plating is not implicated and smeared cos as the great sports commentator Alan Partridge would say, "He smells deeply of fish".

My suggestion would be to close FIFA down in Switzerland (there are too many other dodgy I situations based here in bed with FIFA) and start afresh in a new country such as the birthplace of the modern game Sheffield, or the natural home of football Manchester or somewhere in the UK.
But being British yes perhaps I am biased so perhaps another natural home of football but a country that is fair, open and has little corruption....erm Argentina or Brazil?

Hmmm maybe time for a real fresh start how about Qatar or Russia? ;-)

Tagesanzeiger claiming today that a candidate to replace Blatter is likely to be banned for a long time by the ethics committee, he is the South Korean Chung Mong-Joon.

They also wrote "The payment by Fifa president Sepp Blatter to the current UEFA President Michel Platini looks increasingly dubious." according to preliminary investigations into the books of the Fifa which appears to show Platini was already paid once for his work.
