What everyone else said. Keep the faith and stay strong.
PS: Anyone near Wengen who might be able to put up (more) posters?

Hi john23,
I'm sorry for you and your family's anguish, but I was thinking if there were any other details, you may be aware of, that may help in the finding of your uncle.
I hope it doesn't seem insensitive, and not wishing to pry, but is it possible that his disappearance could be related to a mental condition, that may have resulted in him having amnesia or temporary memory loss, giving the possibility that he could have got on a bus and/or train and left the Wengen area? In which case other readers, in other areas, could also help in locating him, but not be aware that the search area may need to be widened.
Or, if this is not believed to be the case - is it that a possible accident, in a hidden location could be suspected? Meaning extreme vigilance for anyone walking in that local.

So sorry for you and your family John.
I've sent the news story on to some friends at St Ursulas English church in nearby Bern. They'll be asking everyone to keep an eye out and will no doubt be saying a prayer for you and your uncle on Sunday.

What a small world BM. He looks just like a very good friend of ours, our dentist in the UK. Hoping for good news.

As I understand it, there are a number of steep ravines in the area, which can be dangerous for those of us from less bumpy parts of the planet.
If Interlaken was less flat and more rugged, you'd hear more about disappearances there, I'm sure.
I'm sure there's nothing sinister about it.
