| | | Dangerous Man on the loose http://bazonline.ch/schweiz/standard...story/31254569
Apparently, (once again) the Swiss apparatus has failed. This man injured one of the two unarmed (female) police officers and escaped (as he wasn't restrained). He is a real sicko with a history of killing, raping and violence.

Was this from today's paper (couldn't see a date)?
Although I'm some way from the area where this happened, it's still, kind of, my part of the world, to a degree.
It's just that, apparently, (I didn't see it myself), on Mon. early evening there was loads of police activity about half a km from me. Lots of cars, an ambulance or two, and police in full riot gear with helmets and shields - I mean this is a small village - no football stadium nearby.
Still waiting to hear from the jungle drums, what was going on. I hope it wasn't to do with this.

So, not a single mention of the guy's name, description of what he's wearing etc?

Still curious, though .....

Where's the mug shot and "Wanted" poster in the headlines? Maybe he's an Ausländer and the cops would hate to fall into the politically biased trap of thinking that that fact might play into the hands of any one party.

Hope they catch the sicko soon.

No name but he's Swiss, 64 years old. http://www.20min.ch/news/kreuz_und_q...echer-13175329
Apparently the French army's also sent out a helicopter to help look for him.

The dude has freaky Manson-y eyes....
There's also a story about some sex offender working as a teacher in a boarding school only to be charged again with drugging and raping some students. I'm like, who the hell gives a sex offender a job in a school with teenage girls? Switzerland is a small place so you have to figure whomever hired the guy knew about his past. The mind boggles.

LOL. Swiss police. Afraid to blame foreigners.
Sorry, but you are losing it. Even for right winged standards. The Swiss police is time and again happily blaming foreigners and never forget to mention the ethnic background if there is one.
This guy is 64 years old and was already in 1976 convicted for 12 years... and again in the 80s... and has raped his prison psychologist back then already!
I don't wonder why they had no guns, I wonder what a guy has to do to not be allowed to walk around. Several murder charges, rapes... what does one have to do to get permanently locked up?

And there I was enjoying a lovely two-hour walk today, all alone in the vineyards and forests, without a mobile, thinking how much safer I feel here than back in the UK. Oooh, I think the heat of the sun has got to my head.
Note to self: Next time I will listen to my fiancé and take the pepper spray and the mobile.

This guy escaped and believed to be hiding just outside my office, yesterday we had helicopters flying all around on very low level, today we have police cars patrolling, couple of check points with photos of the man and small drones with cameras flying all day long....there's quite tension all around our office area actually.

What I don't understand is, he is bilingual...why do they assume, that he's still in the French part?! He might as well could have escaped to the German part.
