Apparently the German Pirate Party has done very well in the recent Berlin regional elections, taking 8% of the vote!

Oh and you can also pay 13.50 Chf for a piece of tin foil for your passport .

Nothing bizarre ! why should more than 100 people not be to form a political party ? And while some of their positions may not yet been final for eternity, they look like good people who deserve some support

They still exist I believe.

SVP did not merge with anybody, at least not in recent times. They did cannibnalise the votes of many smaller right-wing parties though.

Wasn't there a guy back in the 80s who bestowed upon himself the title of King of Zürich and posted his proclamations on the doors of public toilets and in trams? I can't remember his name.

I guess he was the closest that Switzerland ever got to a Super Monster Raving Loony Party.

There is also a guy called Hanf Ueli who always stands for election and even states as his official job "election candidate".

I am far more intrigued weather the organized the rest by the share of votes they got, according to the political right-to-left or body sizes. Do politicians physically grow when their parties share grows? Or are conservatives simply fatter than greens?

They DO, but have moved away from the centre to the Far Right and are now the Freiheits-Partei
