For those voting in Canton Vaud in September, there are 3 issues on the agenda, 2 which are quite interesting for the international community in my opinion--1) rights of foreigners to vote at the Cantonal level if lived in CH for 10 years, 3 years in Canton VD (note, foreginers already have the right to vote at the communal level in VD). 2) Public school reform. There are 2 competing alternatives, LEO as supported by the Grand Conseil and Ecole 2010, Save the School, both of which will change the existing Canton law on the schools quite significantly in my opinion.
