SVP politician gets cake in face

Let the SVP bashing begin:

"The person who threw me the cake should have avoided to put his finger in my eyes..."

Fair enough. Not cool to get an finger in the eye.

Is the cake was made in Switzerland?

The guy bought the cake cream in Coop one hour before and managed to get it through the security checks.

The victim accepts that "the freedom to throw a cake" is part of democracy.

Sure, a cake is harmless and he seems to shrug it off, but I still find it a worrying tendency to attack politicians (which in Switzerland aren't warded off from the public) one disagrees with.

I generally detest Mr Freysinger and his views and positions BUT his statement that the freedom to throw a tart/cake is part of democracy and that he tried to take it easy, has given me the impression that the person as such deserves some respect

To ruin a cream cake is an "offence against humanity" but to throw it at Mr Freyinger is a praiseworthy action. While the reaction of Mr Freysinger on the other hand deserves respect.

I'm sure that after having had the cake thrown in his face, Mr Freysinger has seen the error of his ways and is right now considering his position in the SVP.

You forgot Pim Fortuyn. You know, the Dutch politician who was killed because he had political views that were not in line with those of your Antifa buddies. He had "pies" thrown at him too. In his case they were amongst others filled with animal excrements.....some fun tradition..

If you can't engage your political opponents without throwing pies or shoes or molotov cocktails, why should anyone listen to you?

Re: SVP politician gets cake in face

while i have respect for the politician's position on this. i'm not sure i agree that being permitted to throw a cake at somebody is an essential part of free speech.

there are other (non-violent) ways to express an opinion.

My Antifa buddies? Because I posted a link about Freysinger??
So according to your logic Simon_ch would have to be a member of Riposte laïque and chucking cakes leads straight to murder?

Please guys get over yourselves. A bit of humour hasn't hurt anyone.

Simon_CH I understand he's Swiss but I thought Dutch people would have some sense of humour
