Funny regulations - can you think of any?

I was bored this evening and thought some of you might be too - hey ya never know - so though I'd share my Spanish homework with you. As long as you don't answer in Spanish it's not cheating.

I'm looking for amusing laws or regulations. Not necessarily real ones - although those are welcome too - just ones that the crazy politician of your choice might decide to bring in for a laugh - or not!

For example...

Making the CHF a non-convertible currency.
Invading Italy/Belgium to stabilise the political situation there.
All policemen to wear uniforms in bed, so as to facilitate a swift reaction to midnight crime*.

(The point of the homework is to correctly use the subjunctive, there are no bonus points for creativity but I like to be able to laugh whilst working my way through the slew of red marks on the corrected version.)

*Yes, I did steal this one from the Daily Mash.

Try http://www.dumblaws.com/laws/united-states/alabama and choose Switzerland or other countries.

Re: Funny regulations - can you think of any?

Thanks. I did try Google first. Didn't come across anything I liked sufficiently.
Anyway I thought people might enjoy thinking up weird laws to sort out their neighbours or common complaints - although it looks like everyone's busy eating popcorn in the I-hate-English-speaking-immigrants thread right now.

Apparently in Florida, U.S. it is illegal to fart in public after 6pm. God, I'd be imprisoned for life...

Surely that's a joke given the average age is over 60 and flatulence is nearly obligatory in those over 60 who really don't care anymore. They'd have to lock up half the state! Reminds me of an old and tired joke: There are two kinds of drivers in Florida: old peole and their parents...(both of who fart abundantly I might add. ).

As long as you're quiet about it, nobody knows... Probably those 'seasoned citizens' have developed an acumen for SBDs...

Re: Funny regulations - can you think of any?

About twelve years ago, I dug around in old archives of Suttons Bay, Michigan. There I found an ordinance from the late 1890 that said that home owners who shoveled snow in front of their houses along the streets were obliged to push the snow on the street to make sure there was enough for the horse-drawn sleds.

The funny thing was, no one could remember that ordinance, so it had never been repealed.

All "r" should be removed from the Spanish language.

TVs should shut off automatically after 2 hours of usage and turn back on only after spending half hour on that stationary bike you promised your partner you would use "every day".

Trees should be discouraged from producing and releasing any substance that causes allergy symptoms, particularly head aches.

I remember reading once that it is still illegal for women to wear trousers in Paris. So the police women are actually breaking the law.
