Many moons ago SR Technics managed to ditch their oldnew stock for planes ending (or already out of) service.

That company went to the wall a few years back!!
That's not quite the story. Read up on the intraweb about Aero Inventory who went around purchasing up inventories and financing further spares acquisitions, but were basically closed down by the banks as their value was deemed lower than market value, allegedly. They've just started up again with almost a new name and identity, so no further comments from this side....

Lets just say, it is said that they never really knew what inventory they had at any point in time. Oddly that was confirmed by separate sources at different points in their illustious history.

300 permanent employees being laid off at Jet Aviation Basel too, though mainly in Completions.
The completions facility of Jet Aviation at BSL-MLH was and is highly important for the CH-side of the airport. The company, owned by General Dynamics, employs at BSL some 1700 people, so that a reduction by 300 means almost 20%

thanks for the overview of the MRO aviation sector. The Swissport group seems to be doing well though.
Swissport mainly is in the handling-sector (passengers, check-in, airlines handling etc) AND its activities cannot be relocated elsewhere (FBO) and its competitors therefore are in the same place and have the same predicaments. Passengers and cargo traffic is not just stable but on the increase, not dramatically but steadily.
