I was utterly shocked by the gariffti that was everywhere.
It kind of tarnished my impression (albeit exagerrated) of perfect Switzerland.

I like some of the street art around town, tagging isn't as bad as round some places. The graffiti along the lines into the stations can be quite good, it's not like the approaches to stations and industrial estates are areas of outstanding natural beauty anyway. It's where I see most tagging here.

Some found under underpasses, backs of buildings and so on, probably not to everyones taste, but I can't really say removing them would make the places anymore attractive.

Well, those maybe reasons for vandalism, but i'd hardly call them profound. Indeed, reasons may even be a bit of a stretch to me, id say maybe "excuses" fits better.

When i was a teenager, i was bored a lot of the time too, there was "nothing to do", our town (santa barbara california) "sucked" and was "boring"; we hung out at pool halls and smoked cigarettes in the alley, tried to make out with our female counterparts who were equally as bored as we were, and had the normal adolescent experience and was probably just as bored as the swiss kids are here.

At least the kids here have a public transportation network so arent dependent are older brothers and uncool parents to drop them off and pick them up, can drink and screw legally at 16, and in the greater zrh area at least where i am seeing all this graphitti, are a few sbahn stops away from one of the best cities in europe as far as things to do are concerned.

id say theyre dumbass kids with nothin' to do bein' dumbass kids with nothin' to do. If xbox and making out isnt enough and they need to destroy public property and waste taxpayer money, i would loooove to see them caned, frankly.

Zurich is probably one of the most boring places to be....it is plain ugly and there ain't squat to do..especially if you're a teenager. I, as an adult have a hard time finding something to do there.

You are right, the selection of adult entertainment isn't exactly breathtaking.

I have to disagree. I think the facilities are great. The youths just have no imagination, got sucked out when they played their first Playstation.

This is an area where spraying is officially allowed. You can watching sprayers conducting their hobby. Some simply are dull and boring while others are artists in a way and really creative

Let's not forget that many of those "youth entertainment" things are usually indoors while many in acceptable weather prefer to be outside and quite many "youth entertainment facilities" are completely in the hands of "organised youth entertainment" and dominated by various shades of teachers, social workers and church folks

Yeah, horrible, and it's not an exception. Look around in Stein am Rhein, to name just one example. In my opinion, the best cure still is immediate whitewashing. That teaches those evil-doers by taking the fun out of disfiguring beautiful buildings.

And the angry mob out front look like they are going to torch the place.
