| | | Private plane crash- 2 British men die NE
Just heard sad news that a small private Piper plane which had taken off at Colombier (Neuchatel airport) crashed just a few miles away in Grandson near Yverdon on Friday. Both British men died- one 40 years old lived in Neuchatel, the other, 29 who was piloting the plane it seems, in the UK.
Does anybody here know who this Neuchatel inhabitant was, no details given in the local paper today. Sad news. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worl...ane-crash.html http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15320889 |

Nope- my post was edited and moved, and links attached by a Moderator.
As I read the local papers and realise that many ex-pats do not, I put some of the events or news here for info in case it might be of interest to a few.
What does VVVVVVVVVVVVVV mean btw?

As we are an ex-pat community with many Brits, I did wonder if the man from Neuchatel was known to us on EF.

In another crash overseas ( Botswana ), 3 of the 8 dead were Swiss. http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/swiss_ne...l?cid=31378232 | Quote: | | | | The Swiss foreign ministry has confirmed that three Swiss were among the at least eight people killed in a tourist plane accident in Botswana.
The aircraft, carrying foreign tourists, failed to take off and caught fire in the Okavango Delta region of northern Botswana. Four other people from Britain and France, as well as the British pilot, are reported dead. | | | | | http://www.nzherald.co.nz/world/news...ectid=10760128 | Quote: | | | | In a misunderstanding over accents, Nkwe was understood to have said three Swedes had been killed, but he clarified Tuesday that the three were from Switzerland. | | | | | |
