At least five people were killed when a small aircraft crashed Saturday afternoon near a village in canton Fribourg. Local police spokeswoman Donatella Del Vecchio said no one survived the single-engine plane accident.
Residents of the village of Tatroz saw the aircraft circle twice above the hamlet before crashing in a field nearby.
The plane was flying from a small airport near Lausanne on Lake Geneva and was believed to be heading for an airstrip near Fribourg.
Police had no immediate information on the cause of the crash or the passengers’ identities. They were also still checking if there were other victims either in the aircraft or on the ground.
