| | | Politician Sparks Uproar with Call to Limit German Workers Spiegel Online http://www.spiegel.de/international/...829648,00.html
Seriously thinking about taking our major investments into Switzerland off the table. While we are not a major employer we do contribute significantly to our community and do employ people here, paying their salaries plus 1st and 2nd pillars. Further to the employees we hired we also support many other Swiss businesses who supply us with their products and services. With this type of xenophobic rhetoric spewing louder and louder we are not certain we made the right investment choices.
Interested to hear from other people who are also here supporting the Swiss economy.

we're not here to support the Swiss economy, we're here because of tax efficiencies.

| | | Swiss like the Germans and see them positively
It is now confirmed by some serious investigations, done by Isopublic. While 38% say that there are too many Germans here, 58% say that it is quite alright. A majority of people agree that Switzerland NEEDS the German immigrants. And while the Germans "enjoy" a reputation of being arrogrant, most people in real contact with German residents did NOT experience arrogrance.
Natalie Rickli to me anyway is the Swiss version of Mrs Palin. | | The following 2 users would like to thank Wollishofener for this useful post:

Do you ever listen to majorities or just some freaky extreme minorities ? A definite majority here says that the German presence here is alright and only a minority shares the position of Mrs Pa....Rickli | | This user would like to thank Wollishofener for this useful post:

I read the interview here. http://www.blick.ch/news/schweiz/die...id1862944.html .
It is Palin/Le Pen level. Goldilocks economics. There are 695,000 Swiss living abroad (many in neighboring countries http://www.bfs.admin.ch/bfs/portal/f...m_ausland.html and 70,000 in Germany) , I assume that is a problem for her too. Or rather an opportunity, kick 700,000 foreigners out, bring in 700,000 Swiss citizens and live happily ever after.
She does not like to be served or healthcared by foreigners (Germans especially) so I guess she will replace them all with homegrowns in good old 1940's autarcy fashion. They can pick potatoes or build roads or run banks like, actually better, any other foreigner (select the appropriate countries) I guess.
SVP sinking to new lows. Good fun to read though. THe tongue in cheek questions from the journalist included.

OK for me; the more people recognise some of the extremists in the SVP so the the more votes they will lose.
