Re: The Olympic open ceremony thread

I have to admit... I was a bit confused by the opening ceremony. A bunch of children in hospital beds jumping up and down? Is that a reference to British irony?

Well, apparently, it was an attempt to celebrate the NHS and children's literature, but I thought it seemed a bit... odd.

I thought the best part was Mr. Bean on the synth.

Yes, we are aware that a lot of Americans find the idea of a free heath service that is available to everyone a bit odd

Lol. Well, I have wondered if maybe we'd be better off today if the US had remained under British rule.

I usually don't like watching opening ceremonies but this one is really nice. Very creative. Very impressive.
Just watched the fireworks. Really nice and impressive. Reminded me of the Battle of Britain Memorial Fireworks I saw life in London in 1990 or 91

How long is this going to continue? I'll just ask nicely: please stop posting these childish clips on a thread about the London Olympics Opening Ceremony.

Thank you.

Re: The Olympic open ceremony thread

Closing Cermony - If its anything like the opening ceremony I look forward to it with eager anticipation. Luckily I have been working on the project since early last year so I hopefully, like the opening ceromony I will be fortunate to get a ticket. Albeit, it will be really difficult!
