Sorry, folks, but this is old news. And if Federer really wanted to avoid taxes he would move to Monte Carlo anyway.

I know it's old news, he bought the piece of land ages ago. I just didn't find anything on EF about it and liked to share the pics!

Federer still lives in Switzerland. He can move from Canton to Canton to optimize taxes. But he will never be able to get sugar deals like Michael Schumacher and so on.

Re: Federer's new mansion in Wollerau

Since when has Wollerau been next to lake Geneva?
Daily mirror reporters obviously need a few lessons in Swiss geography.

Re: Federer's new mansion in Wollerau

Mansion in Wollerau is a 6.5 room apartment by the way... 500m2, 10 mio CHF. Which is cool if you have 4 kids, but of course he easily could afford something bigger and better. (Before Wollerau, he had a 3.5 room apartment in Bäch).

For those who haven't read today's March-Anzeiger, there's an article that another tennis star, Gabriela Sabatini, has moved to the Höfe District:

"The Höfe District is evidently very loved by top tennis stars. Martina Hingis, Roger Federer, Belinda Bencic - that Höfe offers a home to these tennis stars is well-known. Now another dazzling name from the tennis world can be added. The Argentine, Gabriela Sabatini, is living since a short time in the Zentrum Staldenbach in Pfäffikon, confirms the Einwohneramt of Freienbach."

Well, was wondering and got this

Let the Greek come to this place, and learn how you can use whatever paint is still around in the warehouse

That photo is far better than the reality!

Other than being very convenient for the station, I can't imagine why anyone would want to live there. However, I hope other people don't share my view and it fills up as quickly as possible - so that the commercial units are filled up with useful shops and amenities.

That's nothing; in Geneva we've been 'blessed' with Les Avanchets since the mid '70s,
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Avanchets
http://www.skiai.ch/vernier_avanchets.html

The photos in the second link don't really do the housing complex justice, from the air the whole horror is supposed to look like a butterfly but I think it's more like a spider!

There is a big Advantage. If somebody throws a fould egg against your window you only have to clean the window but NOT to care about the facade and NOT to go to Police to file a Report

and to be just to Mr Federer, his new home in reality looks nice and the view of the Zürisee is very beautiful

Re: Federer's new mansion in Wollerau

I read the thread today and indeed its so very beautiful place of Roger. Also one thought crossed my mind these millions of dollars on a house. Yes I agree its an individual money and they can spend as they like it but if it would have been you how you would have spend it. I believe I will post a new thread on this topic when I get the access.
Thank you for this post.

Thank you for this post.
"Ordinary" people typically buy homes that cost 3-5x their annual income.

The Federer 2013 income was estimated at 71Mln Dollars (probably around CHF 50Mln at todays rates). The villa in Lenzerheide costs 17Mln (therof 7Mln for the building), while the apartment in Wollerau has a 10Mln price tag - they can easily pay both with their 2013 after-tax income alone.

One hopes for the residents of Wolleru that the Federers don't end up falling out with the neighbors like in GR
