MARINELLO bought by Migros

MARINELLO RETAILING is bought by MIGROS --- More Details will become known. The Zch HB outlet will be turned into a Kind of MIGROS-MAERT, and so without the wines. Unclear is the fate of the outlets at Bhf Stadelhofen and in Sihlcity

Re: MARINELLO bought by Migros

as if there isn't enough Migros in HB..

I wonder what will happen to the smaller shops.

Marinello fruit was usually better than Migros fruit.

Marinello, whenever much more expensive, always had far higher standards than Migros. Difficult to say whether the wines of Marinello HB will be shifted to the Migrolino on Ground Floor. Absolutely unclear to me is the future of Marinello Bhf Stadelhofen, a very nice shop with quite good wines. Good for the customers and most likely for Migros would be to turn M-Stadelhofen into a MIGROLINO as those can sell alcohol and tobacco

Luciano did a bad step after the death of his father, a really great chap, when he raised the prices of the wines by 30 to 50 percent.

More difficult is to see the future of Marinello Sihlcity, as Sihlcity is "COOP-land" with Migros dominating accross the road in the BRUNAU-PARK

The move of M into Stadelhofen means that Migros is now present in HB, Enge and Stadelhofen

Re: MARINELLO bought by Migros

So the duopoly grows and the choice diminishes. Soon the only places you'll be able to shop will be Migros and Coop, which is almost how it is now.

Ha, they too will eventually be "Borged" - resistance is futile.

Ormsby has no particular reputation at present
Re: MARINELLO bought by Migros

Migros domination of all things Swiss sometimes feels like a form of social engineering. I have this nightmare vision of all Swiss families sitting down - at 6pm of course- to eat whatever is on "Action" this week, a la Edward Scissorhands. Scary. And then there's Migroschule afterwards.....

True, this is what I fear. The danger is that one of them simply sells the CH ops to Migros or COOP

Do not Forget that many or most CH nationals are co-operative owners of their local M co-operative -- to put it in the vocabulary of the GDR, the Migros is a VOLKSEIGENER BETRIEB (VEB)
