Re: Marriage in Swiss

I think the Swiss laws still donīt permit this situation since nowadays. When I married in Swiss, my ex-husband told to everybody that heīs still been in couple, his first wife was Brazilian too. I donīt know such thaīs true. Because, for me, Brazil and Switzerland forbid polygamous life, even if my country didnīt recognize me as married in that time, in Switzerland. Iīve never envoyed my papers here in Brazil to recognize me married. So, Since nowadays I am always single in Brazil and divorced in Switzerland.

It might be possible but you probably need to charter the plane or do it in first class.

Up to 3 years imprisonment- and of course refusal or cancelation of Swiss nationality via facilitated naturalisation.

I know that. Iīm aware that I didnīt commite any crime about it. Also my country is totally illegal, polygamous pratices. As much as He is married for third time, now with an African woman. So, he never has a permission to tell to his friends that He is still married in me, in Switzerland or in Brazil!
I am always single for brazilian authorities and divorced for Swiss ones.
Since nowadays I donīt have children and I decided not to have.

Re: Marriage in Swiss

A friend of mine is in that position at the moment and the short answer is no.

You can however marry in Switzerland on a tourist visa as long as one of you is registered in Switzerland I believe. Worked for me and the wife

But I'm guessing neither you nor your wife were still married in another country while trying to marry here.

You of course can marry 50 wifes in 50 different countries and prevent all of them from leaving their countries ever. King Abdul Aziz as-Sa'ud had about 55 full-wifes, one from each province, plus dozens of concubines. But later, King Faisal limited the number of wifes per husband in his country to just TWO

The electorate are some millions of People, which means everybody above 18 . There however are SEVEN Federal Councillors who are the Federal Government "in corpore". They are elected into Office by the congress, which means Senate (Ständerat) and House of Representatives (Nationalrat) in Joint Session (Vereinigte Bundesversammlung). The members of the two Federal Parliaments and the members of the Cantonal Parliaments and the Cantonal Governments are however directly elected by the People

Switzerland fairly early adopted the battle cry of the French Revolution Der Souverän ist das Volk // le souverain c'est le People
