Migros restaurant has very good food...

..according to the British.

It's in the Guardian, so it must be true

Re: Migros restaurant has very good food...

"Winning tip: Leisurely Lugano

Dramatically positioned on a glittering blue lake with mountains towering around, Lugano is a stunner. If arriving by train, take the little funicular down into the centre and soak up the rarefied air of the wealthy Italianate streets. "

The funicular has been out of service for several years, and will be for another year or two, as they are rebuilding the station.

Also, they are hills, not mountains, all below 1700m.

Tom

NO THANKS! From the brief experiences my wife and I have had in Switzerland we find the Swiss to be abrasive, rude and mean spirited. Our time and money is spent in more welcoming countries such as Austria, Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

If you've been here long enough you may even consider a cervelat to be gourmet.

The response to the comment you posted was funny:

I've spent two months in Switzerland, across four Europe trips since 1993, and haven't found that to be the case at all. Switzerland has its downside - very expensive for accommodation, restaurants, and meat is the main one - but the sights to see are incredible if you like mountains and lakes and waterfalls. I've never found the people to be anything out of the ordinary.

To the British they are "mountains", but I think you are making mole hills out of this Tom

Who says the British wrote the article? It was a medley of authors.

The bit about Migros food being so good was written by "girlfromvaud". She could be Swiss for all we know.

Perhaps she's a member here and can clarify?

The first successful Everest expedition did it's training on these 'molehills' as the harsh winter weather conditions were more similar to those in encountered in the Himalaya than the 'mountains' of the alps.
