I wasn't aware of this, is this true, does the IOM and Cayman having banking secrecy?
and if so then how come they can have it but not the Swiss banks?
Here is the full OECD list of the 44 tax havens under consideration for stronger measures
http://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/wirtscha...story/23560328

About "how come they can have it ..."

It is all about politicians using the old approach of "ignore what I am doing look at those bad guys over there..."

Also, I tried asking this before, but Delaware in the States seem to have some "special" banking laws as well.. does anyone know what they do differently there??

It seems banking/tax laws will be an interesting discussion point for some time to come yet, so I'd like to feed my curiosity before I enter any discussions...
So far as I know Delaware has different laws about company liabilities (including tax); most major US companies seem to be based in the State of Delaware - even though their physical presence can be pretty small in that State.

It's estimated that between 40 and 50% of all Fortune 500 companies in the US are based in Delaware. Not to mention who controls Bahamas immigration.....(US)

Glass houses, stones etc.

That was much talk, little walk from the small chamber of parliament...
Personally, I hope it can somehow become more than that. From what little I understand about the workings of Swiss politics and Swiss attitudes in general, it seems there's still a chance for an emerging consensus that could again change the course recently set by the Federal Council.

...or am I just a dreamer?
