I am currently living in Thailand and ihave to say the length of the original sentance astonished even the Thai nationals. Following his pardon, it all went very quiet. Does anyone know if his Thai wife went back to Switzerland with him? No one seems to know here.
I would have to say he was a silly bugger. If you live here long enough you know the rules and laws, most of them are not enforced (tea money ) but the ones concerning the Royal family are an exception.

Completely off topic now isn't it? The death of King Bhumibol was one of many reasons we left Thailand. When he dies it will be a total shitstorm. Nobody wants his son to take the throne (except the son himself). Princess Srindhorn is loved by the Thai nationals, but if the son is still alive it seems that he will be the one parking his bottom on the throne. Apparently the laws of sucession were changed some time ago to allow this to happen (Princess taking over) - glad we are not there now.
