Did you know a Swiss man ( worked for a bank in Zürich ) who was prosecuted and persecuted by authorities in Zürich fled CH and was granted refugee status in the US ?

Sometimes the end justifies the means. The Swiss refugee, however, returned to CH and has since lived a normal life.

But that was a "whistle-blower" case & I think he should never have been prosecuted and persecuted.

How can you possibly compare that case with a common thief who did it for money?

Re: stolen tax data

They both were prosecuted for violation of banking secrecy ( ie the topic of this thread ), not for common or petty theft

I am talking about what they actually did; not what some lazy prosecutor brought up to make his life easier & to avoid the work involved in building a case for theft.
