| She was a prostitute and Jesus loved her, which is not illegal nor immoral. (see Swedish law)
some bible stuff: (I'm not religious btw.) http://www.gotquestions.org/prostitution.html
although Christianity is not a moral compass anymore due to other sexual activities with minors...so maybe people think, "...if the monks & priests can do it with minors, I can go to a prostitute..." | |

If you read the quotes then prostitution is not forbidden?
Even the strongest of the quotes given in your link is actually pretty weak as a statement against prostitution "
For a prostitute is a deep pit and a wayward wife is a narrow well. Like a bandit she lies in wait, and multiplies the unfaithful among men."
To me that is more a warning to married men to avoid prostitutes than actually saying anything against prostitution?
I asked the question because I have several times read statements to the effect that Christianity forbids prostitution, or similar, but it is hard to find any reference in the bible to support this. If you look at the ten commandments then these are pretty clearly stated rules but there is nothing similarily clearly written about prostitution.
