I really hope this is sarcastic...
Anyway, in case you just had a lobotomy, try the train. www.sbb.ch
6 mins from Geneva main station.

As stated, the airport is normally the end of the line for many of the intercity trains. From Zurich HB to Geneva Airport takes around 2h50, normally with no changes.

It really shouldn't but you never know how these agents can be so if you have a swiss credit card, take it with to be on the safe side. Usually the card used for reservation has to be shown but they usually let you change it to another card if there are any problems.

Both credit card and license are valid and no requirement to be from same country.
I did exactly the same yesterday so hope it's OK.
Don't think about the car any more - and be strong. And please keep concentrating on driving safely as your mind is understandably elsewhere.

Deepest sympathies to you and your family.
