Fines for foreigners

Hi everybody!
I've been looking for information about my problem and I am happy for that I finely I found what I need an advice from people with experience

So let's start from the beginning.Last year I was working in Switzerland for 8 months and somewhere at the summertime I bought a car and make the registration in Bulgaria.So...my friends told me that if I get a photo I shouldn't be worried about because the fine will not arrive at homeAnd I did the mistake to listen to them...which now I am sorry about it but then I didn't care so much
So I was driving most of the time in the left line of the road.Of course not so fast....but enough to been captured by the speed camera.I had a few flashes ( somewhere around 10-12 ) and I am curious if I will ever get it...or I am just getting paranoid

Last week I was in Zurich again I got one more on the red light....actually I passed on yellow but until of the end for the crossroad was already red and I've been captured one more time

On the next day I went out from Swiss by Weil am Rhein and they stopped me on the border. The guy checked my documents in the computer and didn't say anything.I continued my travel without any problems but I am curious if I will get my fines

So would you tell me please should I be worried or finely I can start sleep normally
Thanks!

Why you hope?!Most of the time was without purpose.I never wanted to fly on the highway.I never get a photo anywhere else and I have driven everywhere around Europe.Only there I make a few mistakes...but it's my fault and I shouldn't complain I know.I just need to know if somebody know something about it...

Yes....I am agree with you but if I have to be honest Switzerland abuse with this.At the moment I am in Holland and the people are very correct even when the speed cameras are not on every 10 meters.I am asking myself why one of the most riches countries in the World has to do something like this to give order on the road???Is not so necessary so much.Sometimes the people need to hurry up for work,airport....sometimes the rules must be broken, unfortunately

Actually, it sounds to me a lot more like you were the one abusing things. Flouting the law because your friends told you a foreigner wouldn't have to worry about it - you're exactly the kind of person that gives us foreigners a bad name.

I hope they catch you.

No they don't.

There is a saying in American English (perhaps also in British English): Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time.

If you want to break the law, be prepared for the consequences. Whining will not help, nor gain you sympathy in this forum.

Re: Fines for foreigners

Looking at his profile, he's a circus artist living in Rapperswil (so I presume he's working for Circus Knie) and from Bulgaria. He may be a troll or this may be a genuine question. Personally, I think he might be the real thing.

So, my friend, be prepared to get a letter about your fines. And if you can't pay your fines, then be prepared to have a very serious talk with your employer and the police.

Welcome to Switzerland. It's a beautiful, safe country and we intend on keeping it that way. (Good God, did that sound like a SVP slogan? If so, sorry)

They will catch you and when they do you will go to jail. My advice to everyone living in Switzerland: Do not f'''' around with the Swiss rules.

You work in a circus... clown perchance or just stupid!

Certainly to flout the laws of this land (or any) and presume the countries wealth or you being a foreigner somehow exempts, you is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard.

Hopefully the police will catch you and throw a rather large and heavy book at you, and thanks for re-enforcing the stereo types parties like the SVP love about foreigners committing crime here.... should we call you Ivan?

BTW - before I was permie here, I lived in France with a French plated car, tickets got to me eventually accompanied by 2 gendarmes and an admin fee from Zurich stadt, and a fee from the French.... so the original fine was almost double.

I got a letter in the post the other day, it said "Speeding fine", I thought that was a nice thing to say, so now I just carry on speeding...

Re: Fines for foreigners

The police can be pretty good at catching you as a foreigner. Many moons ago I was over here for a few months and collected a few parking fines. I thought I might get away with it but they stopped me as I was driving round the area

Probably because they thought that the Bulgarian way of doing it with fake policemen extorting motorised travelers at gunpoint is not exactly the way forward.
