Driving directions from Lake Garda back to Kloten

Taking the family down Lake Garda for the week, but I need to catch a flight out from Kloten for the 1.30pm flight Saturday. But trying to bleed very minute we have in Garda. How early should we leave Tremosine for her to drop me? 2 kids 13 and 3 in tow. Anyone any inputs?

We drove down to Garda in June and it took us about 8 hours to get there (Friday traffic played a factor around Milan) we decided to come back via Austria on the way back on the Sunday and it was an easier and quieter drive (no traffic problems) but it still took us around 5-6 hours

allow yourself plenty of time

I personally would come back Friday. Queuing last weekend started at 0630 southbound and not long later northbound. 10km long queues (aka 150 minutes or so)

Thanks Nick and Lob for the advice. I guess I will check out Friday evening and start driving back via Austria.

Re: Driving directions from Lake Garda back to Kloten

I've made Reva del Garda in 6 hours quite comfortably before... both on a Friday evening and a Sunday evening coming back. Avoid the main route. I went through Davos then Flüelapass and Offenpass. There is much less traffic on this route and it is far quicker. The scenery is also pretty amazing if you go this way.
