A friend of mine got a speeding fine for a German registered car sent to his Swiss address - he was registered for parking within the Blue Zone in Bern.

Yes they do send fines abroad, I believe only above certain amount, they also can slap a hefty admin charge for overseas fines to cover the additional cost of processing.

Anybody has anything to contribute on the (camera flashed) status of a car with US plates during the one year grace period ? will they nab me when i finally show up for Swiss registration ? or am I a legal outlaw for a year ? thanks

About 20 years ago, a friend was caught speeding in her Swiss registered car. She said that the driver was a friend who lived in Saudi Arabia, with his permission. He received the fine at his S. Arabian address.

Sorry to hear. I hope they both got over it, with the help of passing decades. But this is not the case I am alluding to, since the car is US registered.
