Does any of boardies have an idea what is the cheapest and fastest travel from Basel to Brussels ?

by train via Frankfurt, around 6.5 hrs, did it once ... am sure you can cut that down flying from Mulhouse.

We are actually flying out of Zurich with Swiss to Brussels at the end of the month, it is the easiest and cheapest. Out of Basel flying to Brussels is a little expensive. I do night like to take these long train trips unless I have lots of time to waste. So we take the train to Zurich airport and then on to our flight. I think it cost 280 francs round trip, the flight is about an hour.

I do it exactly the other way around: take the train in Zurich to Basel to fly to Brussels with Swiss. With a little luck u can find a ticket for 99 CHF return, just check the Swiss website occasionally. I've managed to fly out on Friday nights and return on Monday mornings for this price a couple of times already. The cheapest and fastest way by far if u ask me...

I did not realize that Swiss flew out of Basel to Brussels. Is it direct? My partners company planned the trip and so they of course bought way too expensive tickets and I told them I would book my own next time as they paid almost triple what I found online.
