Park and Ride Zurich?

Hey all,

We're planning to drive to Zurich this Friday...is there any "park and ride" in Zurich or around Zurich? Otherwise, can someone please recommend a cheapish parking lot/space/parking area for the day (or half day)? Thanks

Re: Park and Ride Zurich?

Thanks for the link, Lob. We don't necessarily need to park downtown...I'm sure we can do with a little exercise so if anyone knows of parking places either in Zurich or near Zurich (say within 15 minutes walking distance), let me know. Cheers!

Re: Park and Ride Zurich?

I normally park behind the Enge Train Station. This is the street that is above the Train station. Fridays is normally good as people usually take the day off in the summer. The price is Sfr5 for the whole day... Walking from Enge to Bahnofstrasse is approx 8 mins.

Re: Park and Ride Zurich?

I would park at the airport long-stay as its a no brainer and well connected.

Re: Park and Ride Zurich?

There is a park and ride point at Bahnof Tiefenbrunnen at the south/eastern end of Zurich. I think it's only CHF 5ish for the day. There are two trams that leave from there and then you can get to anywhere.

http://www.rzu.ch/pdfs/pur_zuerich.pdf

On Page 2 of the .pdf there is a map with all the park and ride points in Canton Zurich.

Re: Park and Ride Zurich?

I've mostly just taken the train into Zurich. As one of the posters before indicated the airport is well connected to the rest of the city...as is the Hautbanhof. Generally, public transport is quite good. Also, saves the trouble of bringing a car at all. This, of course, provided the trip isn't too hellacious from whencever you come.

Re: Park and Ride Zurich?

There is a park and ride official one that is in Altstetten. You then get on the number 2 tram to Paradeplatz. Cost is by the hour with a limit of 15 francs. Then if you only want to park for up to 3 hours you can park in Letzipark where the first 3 hours are free it is also more or less on the tram number 2 line. From either you need around 15 minutes to Paradeplatz.
