SkyWork Airlines

Has anyone flown SkyWorks? I'm wondering if they're like Southwest in the US. Any insight, stories about them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

They have 3 Bombardier Q400s (72 seats), 3 Dornier Do328s (31 seats) and fly niche routes from Bern, itself a niche airport. So no, they're not like, but quite the opposite of Southwest Airlines.

Re: SkyWork Airlines

I flew with them a couple of times to Barcelona. Very nice flying from Bern. Food on the plane was so-so but didn't matter, the flight was very quick. Not very full either so relatively comfortable.

Re: SkyWork Airlines

Friends of mine flew Bern to London City & return in May and were very pleased.

(The Bus to Bern airport leaves from the Post Bus station, above the main railway station)

Re: SkyWork Airlines

I hope it works out for them as the Bern-Barcelona route is one I plan to use. Vueling.com has great Zurich-Barcelona service and I think Easyjet does Geneva-Barcelona.

I see the need for this niche route from Bern though, and hope they get the necessary numbers. The London City route brings skiers comfortably in Winter.

Re: SkyWork Airlines

Hello everyone,

More info about SkyWork Airlines can be found from here:

www.flyskywork.com

Compared to the other big airports in Switzerland Bern-Belp airport wins them 5-0. No big queues and waiting times. Very personal service + cheap parking at the airport.

Re: SkyWork Airlines

Hi,
I have a question ref SkyWork Airlines. I was looking for a ticket Bern-Munich, and the price for 1 hour flight is quite expensive(310 CHF). I was also prospecting flights from Bern to Cagliari or Elba and i was amazed how expnsive the filghts are compared to Geneva-Cagliari.
Is there any reason why this airline is quite expensive?
Thanks,

There's a simple answer in post 2. Small aircraft, low volume = expensive
