EURO PARKING COLLECTION PLC
UNIT 6, SHEPPERTON HOUSE
83-93 SHEPPERTON ROAD
LONDON
N1 3DF
Company No. 03515275

Looks like it's a UK company with lots of links to many "authorities" and are empowered to send an invitation to pay by those "authorities".

I would recommend filling out the form to exclude your details from the e-autoindex.

I have just received in the post, a demand for a UK parking ticket from August 2013.
The letter has London Borough of Richmond upon Thames in top left hand corner and then the entire letter is in German demanding 209 CHF - to be paid to Euro Parking Collection plc, with an ING Switzerland bank account provided.
I am wondering if there is now an enforcement policy in place, or could I get away with popping this in the recycling

its a private company - throw it in the bin, there is no requirement to pay it and no bilateral treaty.

they are well known on pepipoo, I think I have even seen a thread there about them, and it rips holes in their claims on the website - which is a joke TBH

Re: UK Parking Ticket

Indeed - they basically offer the chance for you to pay and take their percentage.

Ask yourself what's in it for them? A cut.

They probably get lots of people paying so it's a good business model. There is nothing they can do to make you pay - these are civil matters and are absolutely unproven. The company has no evidence of the offence, just the fine. So don't contest, don't pay, scan it for the fun factor and file it.

Oh yes - I DID actually get a parking ticket in Richmond in August in my Swiss car!!
The letter (in German) has the day/date/time of the offence, plus road name and reference number. Im just shocked that London Borough's have tracked me down in Canton Schywz and demanding paymentů Just what can they do if I don't pay it!!

they cant do anything, it will be written off together with the other millions of tickets for foreign reg vehicles.

and before the bleeding hearts and ill informed start bleeting with "pay, pay, pay" if they can answer yes to all the below then by all means pay it ..

1. is the PCN wording complaint
2. was the signage complaint
3. was the road marking complaint
4. is the TRO in order for that area

nikki - you can forward them my address details if you want, I feel like some fun

I quite agree! I have paid so many unjust parking tickets in my time that I am quite happy to let this particular London borough chase me some more and waste the paper and postage

Re: UK Parking Ticket

last year on a trip back to London we received a congestion charge fine (which they sent to us out here - and relatively quickly after the date of the offence) but it was legit and we paid it.

the year before we arrived back to the car which was slightly over the time limit to find the traffic warden issuing us a ticket but he didnt know where the car was from (even though it had the CH sticker) but it was never followed up. However, that said, I do believe that they are beginning to clamp down.

Also, a couple of years back, we received a fine (sent out to us in CH) for supposedly overstaying our time at a multistorey car park in a huge shopping centre in the UK. Apparently, there was a tiny note somewhere on the level saying that if you stay for more than 4 hours a fine may be issued. I think what had happened was that this was never enforced, but the carpark had been sold and the debtors thought they would try their luck to chase up on these... we wrote to them asking for proof that we had overstayed and never heard from them again. But i am sure that enough people would have sent the money, given the rather forceful tone of the letter.

Good, I shall parking infringe and enter the congestion charge zone with abandon in London this summer. Only issue I've noted is that my borough will not issue residents parking permits if you have outstanding fines issued by that borough, but since they can't tow anymore not sure it's much of an issue.

True, you can't be clamped or towed on private land now, and councils are much less likely to clamp to tow you now, but some care is still needed I guess:

Re: UK Parking Ticket

Yep people need to be very aware clamping and towing on PRIVATE land is banned but the council will clamp and tow on public. If its a suspended parking area dont even think about it, it will be towed.

I would recommend filling out the form to exclude your details from the e-autoindex.

I got a ticket from Bellagio in Como. I was there for less than an hour last August, and they sent me a letter stating:
"Fur ohne genehmigung in die Verkehrsberuhigte Zone". I remember driving to somewhere restricted but:
a) I didn't have anywhere else to go stuck in a dead end and I was in a hurry to catch the ferry
b) I thought it was Italy, and I wasn't expecting a "strong enforcement", especially in a small village.

Anyway, busted and fair is fair. Thing is, the letter has on the header "Servizio di Polizia Locale - Comune di Bellagio", but on the payment details the Beneficiary is Nivi Credit S.R.L. DIV. European Municipality Outsourcing.

They're pretty well organized, they have a website (link) in which they give you a user/pass combo and you login to see your offences.

They even have a picture of the car

But as I understand, they are a company collecting the tickets. Legally can they come after me if I don't pay? The municipality outsources to them, but what powers does that give them? Is it the same story with the company above? Just forget about it?

Having previously ( until February this year) worked and driven into central London everyday, I naturally collected a few fines...my understanding now however is that you will be chased for the congestion charge even if you are on foreign plates.
However, most certainly for the provinces, you are not likely to get chased for a parking fine....and if you did, it would be too costly for them to chase. All of this comes under 'civil enforcement' and quite frankly, it would cost a local authority way too much money to action.

So, when I drive my UK plated car in Switzerland....can I get away with speeding/ parking tickets etc? :-)
I have been flashed in Zurich months ago in a company car.....never heard a thing. 'crossed fingers'

But did they have to pay these fines? It's not clear on the links. It's one thing them reaching you, but are they enforceable? Perhaps you can still just ignore them.
