I will soon move to Basel from Italy and I'm thinking of bringing my car with me. The issue is that, although I always use that car, it is registered in my name and also in my father's name. Do you think this is going to be a problem for using the car and then register it in Switzerland later on?
We have owned the car for more than six months so, according to this, I won't have to pay import duty, unless the authority create problems due to the shared ownership of the car.
Another question is for the parking permit: I will have a B permit and hence my residence will be moved to Basel, where I would like to request a parking permit or "anwohnerparkkarte". Will it be a problem to get the permit for the first 12 months while the car will still have Italian plates? Or perhaps the police is happy to provide the parking permit as long as I can demonstrate that I live there and pay the relevant fee?
