I guess after 2 weeks of holidays & the heaviest snow falls for 40 years they could have supply issues, why not think ahead & order your tires in October / November?

What I like is they don't hold a huge stock of last years tires, they get from the manufacture as required, just a few weeks after fabrication.

If you order from a shop and they give you a delivery date 3 weeks later - on the due date itself they say "sorry out of stock". And now you saying it is my fault I "waited". Joke!

It would seem to be a supplier problem & not the direct fault of Rifen Direct, what were the tyres you ordered? Perhaps you should order another brand!

I dont think it is my job to check with the Continental Tyres if they are in stock or not - if I am buying it via Rifen Direct.

I can understand things can be out of stock - but you do not give an estimated arrival date which is 3 weeks from purchase date and ON that date you say "sorry, out of stock".

If you had checked with Continental they would have given you the same date as RD, as thats where RD got their info

Anyway, the point of me raising my voice was to say I am disappointed with the service and how it was all handled.

Maybe there's a clue in there... but then I am working in the transport business and know how many things can influence the delivery time..

We have a small car, tyre size 165/65 R14T on normal steel rims

I have ordered 4 Continental summer tyres from Reifen Direkt, fantastic offer,

Reifen Direkt per tyre Fr 62,-- local fitting & disposal Fr 20,--

local Migros, same tyre Fr 91,-- Migros fitting & disposal Fr 30,--

so I have made some heavy savings, Thank You EF for the recommendation!

I have used them in Greece, on their respective online site, repeatedly and for expensive tire sizes. Never had problems using a credit card and delivery has been speedy. I even got a call from Germany once (by a lady who spoke Greek!) to ask if everything was delivered ok.

As mentioned already, it is a welcome bonus that their tires are fresh - e.g., three months old. (Tech note: A tire deteriorates with time, even if it is just sitting at the shop, unused. Of course, this is not to suggest that a year-old tire would be dangerous.)

I can't say if their Swiss sites (reifendirect.ch and 123pneus.ch) offer comparable service but it should be a safe bet since the same (German) company, Delticom, is behind all their online stores.
