just wondering how many buy from reifendirek .ch or . de and if all has gone well or not....?

looking to get a set of winter tyres but heard stories of bait and switch in the past.

Used them many times. Always good.

He recommended them to me in fact, but in the end they had sold out of my tyre size so refunded my online order no quibbles.

ok thats good, im ordering from the .de site and will get them delivered to a place in weil as i am in basel because the swiss are taking the piss for tyre fitting costs...... as normal.

Good idea - but did you check the partners listed on their site and their costs? I can believe the prices are better over the border, you do right to take your business there

I always use them. Cheap (cheaper than ch) prices, fast delivery and the tyres are always less than 3 months old. You can expect to pay around 25CHF per tyre to be fitted to your wheel and installed on the car. Factor for around 40CHF per wheel if you wish to dispose of the old tyre when you are replacing one.

Used them twice and happy both times. Savings on VAT meant that delivering and fitting in Basel was cheaper than going to Germany. Check their partners - Garage Rene Huber charged me CHF15- to mount, balance and fit the tyres (he's on about the third page of partners, but has tons of good reviews), which I thought was very fair. He's just around the corner from IKEA in Pratteln.

Check prices regularly, because they can vary by +/- 10% day to day.

Good price and good service. Tires at my door 2 days later.

I highly recommend them too. Last year I ordered tyres and had them sent to a garage listed on their site near us. When they arrived the guy tried to put them on the car and discovered they were the wrong size. It was entirely our fault but they picked the tyres up and exchanged them with the right size without charging us anything extra. I was very impressed.

Have them delivered to my house and then I take them to get mounted where ever I choose, great service and prices, just have to make sure you pick out a really good tread and proper speed rating for your car. Here it's very important to have proper matching tires on all four wheels. In Minnesota and Iowa we only put winter snows on the back of the car. First time I ever had to put snow tires on all four was here at age 48 and 45 cars later.

i ordered from the DE site, the tyre cost was about the same between the DE and CH site, but the fitting costs made the difference... in CH between 28.50 to 50chf to fit new and dispose of old tyre.

In DE its 14Euro (17chf)

I went round some of the local swiss suppliers - i didnt expect anything else of course....

Also went to a few places in lorrach and weil - they were close to 200euro per tyre but i caught on the screen the price they pay....... 110euro, so if reifen direkt charge 128 euro i am happy, and not bothered if can not claim the tax back


BTW reifendirekt have very good prices on nokian tyres the new WR A3 model, its new so you will not be getting old stock.

No problems here - even when I cancelled an order (after 1 hour) and re-ordered. The delivered BOTH sets - and picked up the cancelled set a day later.

The oil I order took a long time to arrive - back order issues on "rare" oil.

It is worth ordering to the garage that will fit them IMHO

My local place charges 3 francs to dispose of old rubber and about 20 francs a corner for the change (same rim, tyre change, balance, fit). 40 francs a season for storage too - so it's about 120 francs twice a year.

Quick question ..... slightly OT, but related.

As garages that fit tyres, normally sell them too, how do they react to fitting tyres sourced from a 3rd party, and is there any reflection in charges?

(i.e. similar to corkage charges for byo wine to a restuarant).
