Greetings,
Bit of a surprise this one...
Last year December we visited my father (in Wandsworth, London) and to park in the road outside his place you have to fill in a parking card for the day - fill in the reg and scratch off the day, month and year. The car has Swiss plates.
Unfortunately I trusted my stupid (now former) girlfriend to do this, and she neglected to fill in the year (!) on the permit. Next day we found a parking ticket because of this.
Now naturally I assumed - Swiss plates - ain't gonna be pursued for this - and binned it...
Wrong.
I now have a demand from Wandsworth council via Euro Parking Colllection (
www.epcplc.com) for the fine in CHFs. Must be the first time they've pursued a payment from Switzerland because it's taken 9 months to track me down and whilst the fine is in CHF, on their website you can only pay in £, €, $ and the various Nordic currencies - but no CHF :-)
Anyway the moral of this story is: beware - even UK parking tickets can't always be avoided now :-(
Regards.
PitBull.
