Will it fit?

No, not what you are thinking you naughty boy / girl!

I intend to buy a 160 x 200 mattress from Ikea, In a moment of clarity I though I could roll it up and fit it in my VW Golf.

Have I lost the plot or is it doable?

Re: Will it fit?

Rolling it up might damage it. I think you can rent a van from Ikea - that might preserve your mattress a bit better.

Re: Will it fit?

I bought one already rolled up, fit it into a VW Polo, no problem. Also I once hauled 6- 2 m 17x17 wood beams all in the polo with the hatch closed, this was not a combi either, normal 4 door hatch polo. Just ask that it's rolled please.

Re: Will it fit?

Hmmm, one no and one yes. To drive to Ikea is 45 minutes at best. I'd rather go there, collect it and return rather than go there, take van, drive home, drive back, collect car again if at all possible. Plus driving vans sort of scares me...

Sliced - was yours a double or single. Any idea if it was with springs or without?

Thanks both

Re: Will it fit?

I also bought mine rolled up (no springs). You can always take a look at the package size on the website and get an idea if it's indeed rolled up or not.

Re: Will it fit?

We changed from a big mattress to two singles with an Ikea mattress pad over the top. That would fit in a golf even if not a rolled up mattress.

That spelling looks wrong, wasn't there another a somewhere in mattress?

Re: Will it fit?

I rolled a 200 x 160 mattress and fitted it in a Renault Twingo. It was tight, but then most of us like it that way.
