| | | Major train disruptions-Lausanne-Geneva 15 Nov.
Just a warning to anyone coming/going in the Geneva-Lausanne area today, there was a derailment near Coppet this morning, all trains were blocked, thus everyone driving to Geneva. Problem apparently still not resolved by CFF, so be aware. I would guess they would not straighten out all the trains and lines til later today at earliest, so expect delays and cancellations.

We have had some delays past week or two, people jumping under the ICNs, it's sad. Now this, what else is gonna happen?

The CFF feed on their website is still showing problems, so I would not rely on getting anywhere by train.
We took the lake road to Geneva to avoid the A1, it was solid traffic but moving on the lake road. I understand the autoroute was worse, with all the people from beyond, ie. Morges, Lausnanne, etc.

Just to be the pedant I usually am not , people will appreciate if you stop by at our Introduction section to drop a few lines about yourself.
Ok, now when that's over with, the trains delay were over it looks like around 1-2, I caught a 5:30pm one without any problems.
OP, thanks for the headsup, for sure, without arranging alternative trasport I would have been late and my students would surely cry their eyes out

My daughter's school only english prof. arrived some 2 hours late after being stuck in Lausanne, so no english that morning, not that they were crying over it. They were shuffling all the teachers around to cover for the late ones.

I read in the paper this morning it was a short circuit, not a derailment. Or was it both? Bunch of very frustrated passengers stuck on a train for 3 hrs .
