I recently purchased a valve off ebay which needs to be greased. As some pretty hot air will go through it, I need high temperature grease to grease it.

Any idea where I could get some?

Depends on how hot but you're probably looking at lithium grease.

Depending on the temperature you need it to work at, you can get it from a car accessory shop, or a bike shop in small tubes.

I thought there are no car accessory shops in CH

I need it to work at the temperature of car intake manifold air (it's a recirculating dump valve for turbo cars).

You can try Jumbo. I got some car grease there the other day. I bought the cheap stuff as it was just to do a squeaky door.

They have a selection of at least three or four types. From memory they all mention the temp details.

Let me know if you can't find any, we have some for -80 upto +300 C. But are u sure it needs to be greased, none of mine have been.

Is copper grease acceptable? I bought some from this shop recently. Its based in Horgen.

Thanks all for the kind replies. I am 100% sure it needs to be greased as it's piston based, comes greased off the factory AND there is a service kit for sale for it which includes the grease (red in color). I would've gotten said kit for $10, but when I found out that shipping is $15, I changed my mind, $25 for a fingertip of grease seems a bit excessive

Hello, I worked along time ago for the union Pacific RR and we had bearing 12" across very high temp that turned blue and we used a very high temp grease every 5 mins. We bought it by 33gal barrels but it came in tubes, normal grease or some high temps didn't work. Nothing you could buy at Jumbo would come close, look for abearing supplier here in the internet or yellow pages. Extreme high temp.
