Hi,

This driving school currently has an offer of CHF1525 to enroll for the driving course.

I heard from someone that they are not a reputed school and are on the "blacklist".

Does anyone have any experience with them? And could anyone suggest a good driving school?

What kind of driving course is that? What does it include? I always paid per lesson, can't remember exactly now, was a few years ago.... but why shell out that much money up front when you don't know how many lessons you'll really need?

I never heard of any blacklist of driving schools myself, where did you hear that?

I used the school with the yellow cars at Dreispitz - these guys http://www.lerncenter.info/

They're not the cheapest but they were excellent and have English speaking instructors (and many other languages too.) I passed first time with them (as compared to having previously failed four times in the UK )

I am a complete beginner so I would have to go through all the steps. This is what is included:

Nothelfkurs
Verkehrskunde
Theorie
20 lessons of 50 min each

I went by yesterday to ask for some information and a friend of mine told me this morning that she had some inputs from her friends(who have used the driving school you have mentioned) that this school was "blacklisted". I dont know what that means and hence decided to ask for references on this forum.

I paid CHF120 for my Nothilfekurs ( in EN ) if that helps. ( organised by the local Samariter ).

So if I understand correct, you don't have to do all the courses from the same school?

I did not proceed with driving lessons ( offered by Fahrschule - you are free to choose form the many around ) as I needed the Nothilfekurs and advanced modules for the type of work I am involved in. As for travel, I use the train or public transport.
