Is the carte journalière/tageskarte valid on this? Can't seem to find it anywhere online...

Not aware of a funiclur at the Montreux stop, but guessing you mean the Territet-Glion one?
If so, it would appear yes. If you have a carte journaliere for the Mobilis zone, ie. Canton Vaud, then this Mobilis zone includes the Montreux region, ie. VMCV, http://www.vmcv.ch/ The funicular covers 3 zones of VMCV, in which is appears to be included. If in doubt, check the reseau of VMCV.

Sorry, I didn't realize that there was more than one.
I mean the one that goes from Montreux to Les Avants.

Not sure if it's one and the same, but the entire reason we are looking into getting to Les Avants is to eat at a restaurant that someone on EF recommended.

I mean the one that goes from Montreux to Les Avants. | | | | | Sorry, there is the confusion. The other one, known as Les Avants, goes from futher above Montreux, leaving Les Avants stop to Sonloup. Tecnnically this is outside the Montreux reseau, will have to do more digging to see if it is covered or not.

It is at the bottom of the funicular, you need the train (golden pass line) up the mountain from Montreux, not the funicular.

It did seem a bit strange on google maps...
So, the question now is: is the CJ valid for the golden pass line?

Now, may be corrected, but address is "Les Avants" on their website, and their map brings me to Les Avants train station. The funi goes up to Sonloup, and does not list the restraunt as there, yet the street address appears closer to Sonloup than Les Avants. May want to call them before hand so you know exactly where to go.
Back to the original question, the Mobilis should get you to Les Avants, but need to see if Sonloup is covered or not.

So I just called to reserve, and the wonderfully nice lady said to take the train from Montreux to Les Avants, then the funicular to Sonloup, and then walk 1km (better be worth it!).
So, still need to find confirmation whether or not these are included in the CJ from the commune...
(Thanks for your help so far!)

The carte Journaliere of the commune operates on the carte AG reseau. Sorry, thought you were getting the mobilis carte journaliere.
According to the CFF site, this is the reseau, and Les Avants-Sonloup is excluded, but entitled to half price. http://www.cff.ch/content/sbb/fr/des...r.download.pdf | | This user would like to thank runningdeer for this useful post: | |

Just a note of warning, the MOB line is highly touristy, so if you go on a panorama wagon, or high peak times, it could be difficult to get a seat. But it is quite a short ride to just Les Avants.
