Transporting belongings from Zurich aiport

Happy New Year all!

I will be arriving at the Zurich airport next week with 2 suitcases, a carryon, and my bike in a box. I'm trying to figure out the most efficient and cost-effective (I know that there are trade-offs between these two things) way to get my stuff to my new temporary place in Kreis 4.

Normally, I would take the tram to my new place, but I don't think i can manage that this much stuff on the tram (especially ~9 am on a weekday morning?). I think hiring a taxi would probably be very expensive -- on the order of 60 CHF? Does this estimate sound right?

Is there some sort of shared shuttle service at Zurich airport? I couldn't turn up anything in my google and EF searches. I welcome any other suggestions...

Re: Transporting belongings from Zurich aiport

You could put 2 cases in left luggage at the airport, and make 2 trips on the bus and tram.
If you join Mobility you could drive yourself home, bring the car back, and go home on the bus.

Taxi would be easiest. You can choose which taxi in the queue, maybe you can haggle the price down to a flat Fr 50,-- ?

You could also use the SBB's Fly Rail Baggage service (CHF 22 per piece of luggage) to have it delivered to the closest rail station. http://www.sbb.ch/en/station-service...l-baggage.html It would take a day or two for the luggage to arrive at the station, but then give you time to take the other pieces back and collect the rest later at the designated station. Perhaps you could manage the 2 suitcases and carry-on on the train/tram and then check the bike? Good luck with everything!

Re: Transporting belongings from Zurich aiport

Thanks all for the suggestions. I have some great options now.

Using SBB's fly-rail-baggage check through to the local train station is convenient and well-priced.

Good to know that I could haggle with taxis. The Mobility pointer is great too -- I'll probably join once I get settled in to Zurich.

It looks like renting a car through kayak or other price aggregators costs just about the same as, if not more than, taking a taxi -- at least at today's quoted prices.
