Travelling between zones with GA/regional card

Hello

I have a GA and am thinking of getting a travel card for zone 2 as per the attached diagram.

http://www.wtv-online.de/v1/30-walds...ario211050.pdf

If I travel from within zone 2 to Basel Bad Bhf (or Basel SBB) am I covered with these two travelcards, or do I also need to buy an additional ticket of some sort?

TIA.

Mod edit: GA map link is here ( also uploaded here ).

Bummer. Didn't quite notice there.
Thanks.

But in that case, should be okay with a GA and a pass for that zone in Germany. Right ?

Well, the tricky part is that Basel Bad Bf seems to lie in its own separate zone (zone 8) on the german system, but lies 'within' switzerland so I'm not sure if travelling from zone 2 to Basel Bad Bf is covered by the GA or not. Trying to d/l a GA map but connection is very slow...

Basel Bad Bhf is covered by GA and you should be fine until the border, after that you german zone 2 card should be valid.

Thanks. This is how I read it too - but I'm a bit wary of being 'Switzerlanded' or maybe in this case 'Germanylanded' I could easily see some train inspector telling me, yes, I have a GA and a zone2 card but I don't have a ticket to travel between the zones or some other such ridiculous rule.

Call/visit SBB and ask.
Normally they are helpful with questions like this.

They helped me with details about traveling from ZH to Rotterdam, including details about the local travel cards in Netherlands.

Good Luck.

Re: Travelling between zones with GA/regional card

From your linked map it looks like Basel BdHf is in Zone 8. I highly doubt that the you could travel from Zone 2 to Basel BdHf with just a GA and Zone 2 ticket.
For your mind, get a written statement from a DB and SBB official that clearly state that your tickets are valid for the intended journeys.

I know for sure that the same thing applies inside Switzerland between different ticket areas. A crossing between TNW and A-Welle or A-Welle and ZVV is not possible if the traveler has two tickets for each area. It is in Chapter 9 of the T600 - Allgemeiner Personentarif SBB
