lost SBB monthly pass. replacement?

I purchased a monthly pass for Basel/Baselland. However, on my train ride home, I discovered the darn thing has been lost!!! I purchased the ticket on my Postcard (so there so proof I paid 80.00CHF to SBB the weekend before the 1st of January).

Just to waylay any worries I have about having to pay another 80CHF ,

does anyone know if SBB would replace said ticket?

I sent an email to SBB but potentially I will not recieve a response until sometime tomorrow.

Thanks!

Re: lost SBB monthly pass. replacement?

if that was a personal pass (your photo on it) i think you can go to the sbb station and ask for a replacement .. since they have your record..there would be a minimum charge..or well thats how it works for zvv passess

I think it will depend on if it's a personalized pass or a general one.

A similar thing happened to a friend of mine who lost her personalised pass and had proof of purchase. SBB did however reimburse for the new pass she had to buy when her stolen purse was found some two weeks later with the old pass intact.

It makes no sense that they seem to treat monthly personal passes different to yearly personal passes (which would be replaced without question for a 20 Fr or so fee). Hope you find it (eventually) or convince them to re-issue your personalised pass. Good Luck.

Only yearly passes with photo will be replaced.

Re: lost SBB monthly pass. replacement?

update:

I recieved an email from SBB this morning stating that I just have to go to the SBB counter and I would get a replacement.

I went and showed past paid tickets (with my information preprinted on said tickets). They gave me a new monthly pass for a 20CHF fee!
