I am reading this forum since a while and I found useful information in your posts.


There is though one small question I have and I couldn’t find the answer.


My partner received a voucher from the company where he works. As far as I am informed, it can only be used to purchase public transportation abon., half fare travel card, etc. The voucher is worth 300 CHF and is valid for 5 years. He is driving a car so for him is with no use for this purpose, and I am already ‘’equipped’’ with a travel card.


Does anyone know if this voucher can be used to purchase also other things for its value?

It depends a bit - is it an SBB voucher, a REKA cheque or ....?

If it's SBB only, it will be limited of course. Use it perhaps for a special trip (Bernina Express, Panorama weagon) or for upgrades on your daily trips? Maybe a ticket for a city tour outside of Switzerland..

It does come down to who issued the voucher in the end..

Well, then there is not much choice left - I'd go for a nice trip. If you're husband is a train-fanatic though (small chance, I know..) you can send him on a train ride in the cockpit of the train...

Use it to go skiing!

Instead of driving - take the train - and enjoy a bit of Apres-ski. Ski-rail tickets normally only cost a couple of CHF above the price of day pass. All of which can be bought using the voucher.

HOWEVER

If it is a REKA cheque - I believe they can be used in BP and AVIA fuel stations.
