Charging A Laptop On the Train

Hi,
I would like to know if there is a possibility of charging a laptop on the Sbb trains?

Re: Charging A Laptop On the Train

Usually in business zones ie 1st class. There are exceptions, like 2nd class on the ZVV Zürich S-Bahn S8 ( upstairs, adjacent to the 1st class car ).

On long haul routes, SBB InterCity and InterRegio offer sockets on some but not all cars inclusive of 2nd class. The Family Car ( 2nd class 5 seater ) always has a socket, I am in fact using it right now.

They are almost always Swiss style three prong sockets.

Re: Charging A Laptop On the Train

I have sat in the family car on my commute in the morning, but at other times of the day I highly recommend looking for alternatives...or bringing headphones.

Yes, but the location of the sockets depends on the train you take.
In most cases, if you don't see them at eye-level, you can usually find one behind one of the seats located by the door.

On the older trains between the seats or directly next to the seat by the window

on the new double deckers, upstairs, located just below the luggage rack (but not always powered)

on the high speed IR dunno

Re: Charging A Laptop On the Train

On the IR there are in 1st class at every set of seats. In business class in the cabins. In the restaurant.

Don't know about other areas of the IR I'm afraid.
